BILLINGS — Michael Morgan, the owner of Shooters Sports Bar in Billings, says a weekend shooting at his establishment was an accident.
Morgan told MTN News that he heard a woman tell police that she dropped a gun from her purse, and it discharged, with the round striking another woman.
A 24-year-old woman was taken to a Billings hospital Saturday, and a 22-year-old woman was arrested, Billings police reported early Sunday morning. The severity of the victim's injuries has not been disclosed.
Police did not identify either woman. They also did not return a message to MTN News on Monday for comment on Morgan's description of events.
Morgan said the woman told police she didn't know the victim.
