Investigation underway after 2 grizzly bears were found dead near Bigfork

MISSOULA — State and federal wildlife officials are investigating after two grizzly bears were found dead next to a road near Bigfork earlier this week.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks are investigating the death of the two bears.

FWP spokesman Dillon Tabish says the carcasses of an adult female bear and cub were found on November 9th on Bear Creek Road near Montana Highway 83.

No additional information has been released at this point due to the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call FWP at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to a conviction.
