MISSOULA — An investigation is underway after human remains were found in Missoula on Saturday, February 1.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh reports that officers were called to the area of the Missoula Sewage Treatment Plant at approximately 10:40 a.m. after an employee who was walking the grounds discovered human remains.
Welsh says that officers arrived and confirmed the remains were human, but no identification was possible.
Detectives were called to investigate, and with the assistance of the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department, the remains were recovered and taken to the Montana State Crime Lab for further investigation.
