4th of July celebrations in north-central Montana

This Thursday, the United States celebrates its birthday and north-central Montana is not lacking for festivities.

From Choteau to Havre, here is a list of 4th of July celebrations everyone can enjoy.

Choteau: 

The city of Choteau has several Independence Day events for people to enjoy including a Tim Montana concert on July 3 and a parade and rodeo on July 4.

Great Falls:

Smelter Avenue will close at 10:30 a.m. from Mountain View Co-Op to Anaconda Hills Golf Course for Black Eagle’s 4th of July parade, which starts at 11 a.m.

The annual 4th of July parade in downtown Great Falls kicks off at 11 a.m. with the 4th of July Hootenanny beginning immediately after the parade. Granger Smith is expected to take the stage at 3:30 p.m.

The Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza presented by the Great Falls Voyagers starts with a baseball game at 7 p.m. and ends with a fireworks show around 10 p.m.

The city’s fireworks display begins after 10 p.m. with the best viewing at Elk’s-Riverside Park (River Drive North between 6th Street & 9th Street).

Havre:

Havre’s 4th of July Festival is set to begin with a flag ceremony at 12 p.m. in Pepin Park. A free lunch and live music will follow.

Lewistown:

Lewistown’s 4th of July celebration includes a rodeo and races. Click here for more information.
