BOZEMAN – The Montana Raptor Conservation Center (MRCC) is preparing to open a brand new wing of its facility.

The Mews Education Center is a newly built, 1,800 square-foot building that will house up to 10 of the center’s educational birds.

The new addition, which was funded by grants and community donations, will provide the public with more up-close-and-personal experiences with the educational raptors who are permanently housed at the center.

MRCC staff also said it will give their educational birds better long-term homes.

“We take a huge commitment in providing these birds with housing for the rest of their lives,” said Becky Kean, director of rehabilitation with MRCC. “So, we want to make sure that they are protected and also comfortable in their new housing.”

The MRCC hopes the Mews Education Center will be open by the start of its Summer Series events on June 19.
