UPDATE: Authorities arrest man involved in Glacier National Park crash on DUI charges

(UPDATE, 6:55 p.m.) Authorities have arrested — on DUI charges — the driver of a car involved in a crash killing one in Glacier National Park around noon Wednesday.

According to a press release sent from Glacier National Park to MTN News Wednesday evening, 19-year-old Leo J. Hagan of East Glacier was the driver of the car involved in the single-vehicle crash that killed a 40-year-old passenger.

The victim’s name has not yet been released by authorities.

Additional charges for Hagan, the driver, are pending via the U.S. assistant attorney.

Alcohol was initially believed to be a contributing factor to the crash.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

(1st report) A 40-year-old man died after a crash in Glacier National Park early Wednesday morning.

According to park officials, Glacier County dispatch received a call around 12 a.m. for a rollover accident on Two Medicine Road in the park.

A 40-year-old male passenger was found dead on scene while another passenger was injured.

Park officials reported that not all individuals were wearing seat belts. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

A press release stated all parties involved in the crash were Montana residents. The name of the victim has not yet been released.

Responding agencies included the Montana Highway Patrol, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, Glacier County, East Glacier Volunteer Fire Department, and Browning Ambulance.

The crash is under investigation.
