A new grocery store will open for business in Lewistown next year.

Town & Country Foods broke ground Monday on a store expected to employ 50-60 people in Central Montana.

Travis Frandsen, president of T&C Foods, said the Lewistown location has been years in the making.

“It’s a single store town and most towns that size are served by two stores,” he said. “We’ve always felt Lewistown had room for another store.”

The store will be located on the west side of town near the hospital and airport.

Frandsen said Town & Country Foods is not a conventional store, but a hybrid of products.

“A lot of organic, natural, and local,” he said. “We integrate all of those things right into the store.”

He added that T&C Foods is employee-owned.

“Everything we do stays in the community. Each of our stores reflect what the community wants.”

Town & Country Foods opened a store in Dillon last week. There are currently stores in Livingston and Belgrade as well as two Bozeman locations. The store in Lewistown is estimated to open in May 2020.
