HELENA — A Hollywood actor’s creative journey led him to Montana to tour the cancer treatment center at St. Peter’s Health in Helena.

Daniel Roebuck’s latest film, “Getting Grace,” is about a teenage girl who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and inspires those around her about the art of living whilst alive.

The actor was more than thrilled to spend time in Helena and said his latest piece is not about a girl who dies of an unfortunate illness, but about the gift of life and gratitude.

“People who help people who have cancer, that’s a very special, very special type of person. It’s like people who help people through hospices; this is unfortunately the part of life for many people and the movie shines a spotlight on the caregivers as well as shines a spotlight on what you make of anything, is what you make of it, you don’t have to be defined by the disease,” Roebuck said.

The film screening served as the official kickoff for St. Peter’s Health’s annual Pinwheel Pledge Campaign. You can read more about the campaign here.

A free, red carpet screening of “Getting Grace” is set for 6 p.m. at Carroll College’s theater Saturday, May 18.
