Fort Belknap Indian Community hosting MMIW awareness week

A Montana reservation is hosting a week of events to bring awareness to the missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW) crisis.

The Fort Belknap Indian Reservation is hosting Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Awareness Week.

Events will include presentations on self-defense, the dangers of social media, and signs of bullying. Other focuses will be human trafficking and MMIW.

Organizers will wrap up the week with a healing horse ride on May 5th.

The Fort Belknap Indian Community Council encourages everyone to participate in the activities, which are open to the public.
