The Sand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its second annual gopher hunt next weekend.
The hunt will start April 27 at 8 a.m. with a breakfast and end at 5 p.m. with a dinner, silent auction, and raffle.
Last year, the department raised funds to buy new wildland gear. This year, they hope to purchase new pagers and radios.
The winning team will receive life-size bronze statues of a gopher.
Pre-registration is $40 for a two-person team. The costs increases to $50 on the day of the hunt.
