BELGRADE – A driver was transferred by helicopter to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after crashing on I-90 westbound in Belgrade Saturday morning, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

MHP Trooper Alex Velasquez said just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, the driver crossed the median around mile marker 297, rolling the vehicle. The driver was reportedly driving recklessly and forcing other vehicles to change lanes.

According to Trooper Velasquez, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. There were no passengers, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Traffic was stopped along I-90W as emergency responders worked to clear the scene. The driver was taken by life flight helicopter to the hospital. No further word on the driver’s condition at this time.

Trooper Velasquez said speed was a factor in the crash and it is not known at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved. The incident is under investigation.

This is a developing story.
