(UPDATE: April 3, 8:46 p.m.) – The Libby Loggers are expressing their gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received following a vandalism incident that occurred this past weekend.
The concessions stand at the team’s stadium was littered with trash and spray-painted, causing what the team identified as thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Posting to Facebook on Wednesday evening, the baseball team thanked volunteers, businesses and the Libby Police Department for not only making reparations to the damage, but also preventing such an incident from happening again.
“Thanks to volunteers, like John and Tina Resch,” the post said, “the concession stand is steadily getting back to normal. It has been emptied, given a good once-over, and we have a group headed down Thursday to continue the deep cleaning and to do some painting.”
The team is raising donations through a “GoFundMe page as well as dropped off locally,” and has collected over $5,000 as of Wednesday, the post said.
Support came from “near and far.” Just a few of the companies named in the post include “an apparel company out of Missoula” that “offered to replace our destroyed shirts” and “a cleaning company offered to come all the way from Belgrade to help us clean.”
The Libby Police Department continues to investigate the incident.

LIBBY – Community members in Libby are frustrated and saddened by a crime committed over the weekend.
The Libby Loggers concession stand at the Legion Ball Field was broken into and vandalized.
On their Facebook page, they wrote there was thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Paint was sprayed on the walls, machines were damaged beyond repair, and it appeared as if the culprit attempted to light a pile of T-shirts on fire.
Anyone with any information about the vandalism is asked to contact the Libby Police Department at (406) 293-4112.
A $500 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to a conviction in the case.
