Interstate 90 between Hardin and the Wyoming border remained closed Monday morning.

The closure was first announced Saturday as floodwaters spilling from the Little Bighorn River covered portions of the highway.

The Montana Department of Transportation issued a flood warning for that stretch of interstate.

Drivers are being directed to leave I-90 at exit 497 in Hardin and then are re-routed on county roads.

(10:39 a.m.) As snow melt continues, flooding concerns rise in north-central Montana.

Several flood warnings and advisories are in effect across the state.

A Flood Warning is in effect for Fergus County due to snow melt along the Missouri River in the northeastern part of the county. This includes the James Kipp Campground and nearby boat ramp close to the Fred Robinson Bridge.

Cascade, Chouteau, Pondera, Teton, Judith Basin, and Fergus counties are under flood advisories Monday until 8 p.m.

Some impacted roadways include Montana Highways 80 and 223 around Fort Benton, Coal Mine Road near Big Sandy, the Liberty County Line Road, and Blackfoot Coulee Road near Simms.

Flooding is not limited to the north-central region, however, as floodwaters have shut down Interstate 90 between Hardin and the Wyoming line.

The Montana Department of Transportation issued a flood warning for that stretch of highway.
