HELENA — For 45 years, Carroll College has successfully graduated over 1,000 students with Bachelor’s Degrees in Science Nursing.
An average of 90 percent of students, from their sophomore year to graduation day, pass the nursing program.
When nurses graduate, they leave with years of applied nursing and are prepped and ready to work as they transition from clinicals to the hospital floor.
Senior student Katie Foster expressed her love for the program stating, “The cool thing about Carroll is that our professors really encourage us if we know what we want to do to start in a specialty.”
Last year, the program saw a 100 percent pass rate on the Registered Nurse National Licensure Exam. Each year, Carroll enrolls about 40 nursing students into their competitive program.
Ellery Dixon, another soon-to-graduate senior, said, “You get fully prepared of how you are going to react in a controlled and safe environment, so that once we are outside of the program and in the hospital then we have that experience.”
The program’s chair, Karmen Williams, a former obstetrics nurse for over 30 years, said, “We are lucky and blessed that we have probably eight mid-level manikins; we have four high-fidelity manikins.”
Carroll’s small classes and innovative teachings set their students apart, ensuring each and every one has a unique and tailored education.
“You know the saying, ‘Not just for school but for life,'” Karmen continued. “This is really true, our students are out there helping, in the community.”
