Make-a-Wish Montana sends Vaughn girl to Mermaid Academy

Posted

VAUGHN– Dreams are coming true for a young girl in Vaughn.

Make-a-Wish Montana and firefighters from Vaughn and Black Eagle welcomed 6-year-old Gracie this afternoon.

Gracie suffers from cystic fibrosis, but her dream is to be a mermaid.

Now, thanks to Make-a-Wish Montana, Gracie will get to be a mermaid for a day at the Mermaid Academy in Florida.

Make-a-Wish Montana aims to grant wishes for children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions.

They say fulfilling wishes has a major impact on the kids and the people who support them.

“It’s a big deal for us, because we both work, we don’t get to spend a lot of time with the kids,” said Dillon Belz, Gracie’s father. “This is going to be an awesome break for us from that day-to-day routine.”

Gracie and her family will get to enjoy a whole week in the Sunshine State.
