HELENA – Expected below zero temperatures have changed some weekend events in Central Montana.
The STORMTracker Weather team is tracking an arctic front that is expected to cause temperatures to plummet Friday night and keep the weekend’s temperatures very cold.
For that reason, Great Divide Ski Area north of Helena has decided to close Saturday. Great Divide staff said they plan to reopen Sunday when conditions are expected to improve.
This weekend’s Race to the Sky dog sled race is expected to continue as planned. Weather delays during the week have caused organizers to move the vet check for the dogs to Saturday morning. The 300-mile race vet check will now take place Saturday morning following the vet check for the 100-mile race.
The race will start at 2 p.m. at the Hi Country Trading Post. Click here for more information.
