GREAT FALLS- Winter weather blanketed the Electric City on Sunday, following a dramatic drop in temperatures Saturday night, which saw a nearly 30 degree decrease in the span of an hour.

Attached below is a Winter Weather Advisory, issued by the National Weather Service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, for the Great Falls area:

* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills and snow occurring. Wind
chills as low as 55 below zero occurring. Additional snow
accumulations of up to one inch.

* WHERE…Liberty, Toole, Northern Rocky Mountain Front, Eastern
Pondera and Eastern Glacier.

* WHEN…For the Wind Chill Warning, until 11 AM MST Monday. For
the Winter Weather Advisory, until 11 PM MST this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas
of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed
skin in as little as 5 minutes.

A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and
the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frostbite
can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions
are not taken.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
