3.9 magnitude earthquake felt near Lincoln Sunday morning

According to the United States Geological Survey, a small, 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred 14 kilometers south of Lincoln on Sunday morning, around 10 a.m.

The earthquake resonated from five kilometers below the earth’s crust.

These aftershocks are a relatively common occurrence in the months and years following a large quake. In July 2017, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Lincoln.

No damage has been reported.
