BILLINGS – On Monday, Fox News anchor Bret Baier and his family were involved in a “serious car accident” while vacationing in Montana.

According to a post to Baier’s Facebook page, Baier and his family were briefly hospitalized, but are now home. Baier will be at the anchor desk for his show “Special Report with Bret Baier” on Tuesday night.

The post goes on to say: “He [Baier] wants to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and wishes to remind everyone to always wear a seatbelt and to never forget what is important in life.”

News of the wreck was first released when Late Show host Stephen Colbert announced Baier, who was supposed to appear as a guest on his CBS show on Tuesday, would not make it due to the crash.

Baier had posted a photo on his Facebook page of his family skiing at the Yellowstone Club over the weekend.
