Public survey shows support for Montana Highway Patrol

BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) released their first public opinion survey this week, yielding positive results.

With the data, MHP hopes to better understand and tackle the concerns of Native Americans and local tourists.

The Patrol reached respondents through contact cards, press releases, local communities, and social media.

The results were promising:

  • 92% said they were treated with respect.
  • 82% trust the Montana highway patrol
  • 86% Montana highway patrol is effective in enforcing the law.
  • 78% rate Montana highways as very safe.

A total of 843 people responded to the survey.
