Driver dies after crashing in Billings

BILLINGS – A driver died after an early Thursday car crash in Billings.

Billings police officers were called to the intersection of 6th Avenue North and North 30th Street at 1:22 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers say a 38-year-old Billings man was driving west on 6th Avenue North at high speed when he lost control and hit a tree.

The driver was trapped and had to be extricated from the car.

Emergency crews performed CPR at the scene, and the man was taken to Billings Clinic, where he died.

Traffic was shut down in the area while police investigated the crash.

The name of the man has not yet been released.
