(BILLINGS) A man is in serious condition after his car was hit by a train in Hardin on Monday.
It happened around 9 a.m. when the male driver was attempting to cross the train tracks on Wooley Lane.
According to Montana Highway Patrol, the man was apparently not paying attention and began to cross when he was hit by the oncoming train.
The train hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The man was taken to a hospital in Hardin, and then was taken by Life Flight to a Billings hospital.
The MHP said the man has most recently been living in Helena, although he had family in the Hardin area.
