The Montana State Capitol Christmas ornament for 2018 has been revealed.

This year’s ornament bears the great seal of the State of Montana on the front.

The seal is based on an original sketch done by Francis McGee Thompson, who was a representative of the first Legislative Assembly during the winter of 1864.

Montana’s symbols, such as the state flower, tree, animal, and bird, are engraved on the back of the ornament.

The ornament is the work of the Capitol Restoration Foundation, which sells the ornament to raise money for various projects.

The ornaments are available for purchase at the Montana Historical Society Museum Store and Leslie’s Hallmark in Helena.
