As the Showdown ski season approaches, Eagle Mount Great Falls is looking for volunteers to help with their adaptive ski program.

Last year, Eagle Mount helped more than 90 people with various needs get out on the slopes.

Volunteers should be at least 14 years of age to sign up and should be able to ski at an intermediate level.

Volunteers will spend about two and a half hours helping adaptive skiers, but the rest of the day is for the volunteers to enjoy the snow with a free lift ticket.

Seasonal volunteer training is held in December and first time volunteers will be trained in early January.

Program organizers said there are lots of opportunities to help at any skill level.

“We do so many different things either staying on the learning area, going all the way to black diamonds, and tree skiing, or tethering a bi-ski or a mono ski,” said Ski Program Coordinator Stephanie Richardson. “There are so many different variations and people that we serve, so there’s a lot of different opportunities for anyone at multiple different levels to help out.”

If you are interested in volunteering this ski season, make sure to register with Eagle Mount by applying at their website.
