A Belt artist is putting her skills to work to help raise money for the Belt Valley Shakespeare Players.

Artist Kim Lockman displayed six original miniature paintings in Great Falls on Saturday as part of a silent auction fundraiser for the Belt youth theater program.

After Saturday, the paintings will be on display and open for bids at the Belt Valley Bank for the next two weeks.

The money raised will help the Belt Valley Shakespeare Players cover expenses for performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Lockman said the theater group is an important part of the community to support.

“It has brought these kids together and they have worked so hard and they’re so good,” she said. “Anyone that hasn’t been to one of their performances, go because they are amazing. They’ve been recognized on the world stage in Edinburgh, Scotland.”

The group first performed in Scotland last summer and they will return again this summer.
