Winter Storm Warning for some areas along the Rocky Mountain Front

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for some areas along the northern Rocky Mountain Front.

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches, with localized amounts up to 24 inches at ridgetops, are expected. Total snowfall accumulations at Logan Pass of 18 to 22 inches, with 5 to 8 inches at Marias Pass, are expected.

* WHEN…From 3 a.m. on Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Expect significant reductions in visibility at times. Those with outdoor interests should be prepared for adverse winter conditions, or consider delaying plans. Some impacts to livestock possible.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. In addition, there are two Winter Weather Advisories in effect; a Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. * WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 9 inches at ridgetops over the Continental Divide and Sweet Grass Hills, are expected.

* WHERE…Eastern Glacier, Toole and Southern Rocky Mountain Front.

* WHEN…From 6 AM Tuesday to noon MDT Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Expect reduced visibilities at times. Those with outdoor interests should be
prepared for the return of winter conditions.
