LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — This week many of the nation's potato farmers are gathered at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas for the 2020 Potato Expo.

Attendees are discussing all the issues that are impacting the U.S. potato industry here this week.

Attendees will also work on policy to address issues impacting the potato industry.

Larry Aslum, president of the National Potato Council, said, "Trade is one of our big issues, but also working on environmental issues, working on immigration and our labor supply issues, infrastructure needs that we have for transportation, are all critical issues for our industry."

Aslum also said, "I enjoy just meeting people and getting to know people from other parts of the country, so the networking is a very fun part. Also being able to participate in the Expo and all the different suppliers and kind of continuing to build relationships with them learn about new products and new ideas."

This year's event will hit the jackpot in terms of breaking an all-time attendance record with more than 2,000 attendees. Click here to visit the official website.
