Security Forces from across Malmstrom Air Force Base held a friendly competition on Thursday to see who is the best of the best.

It is the first time 2nd Lieutenant Kojiro Kobyashi has competed in the Security Forces Group Aces Cop Combat Challenge.

“The only thing I knew about it is that it was going to be a psychical challenge,” Kobyashi said.

Kobyashi built his five-man team from the 841st Missile Security Forces Squadron.

They joined 140 airmen from the five different Security Forces Squadrons to compete in the 7th annual challenge.

“AC3 is basically just a series of physical and technical events. Running, tire flips, buddy carries, and putting weapons together,” Kobyashi said.

The men and women use the skills they use on a daily basis throughout the challenge although it is also about teamwork.

“Honestly it brings the whole Security Forces Group together through competition,” Kobyashi said. “By just getting out there and showing what we got by just having fun.”

After Kobyashi and his team crossed the finish line, they determined some pointers for next year’s competitors.

“It is only a few hours total so you have to dig deep and push through it. It’s a fun time and I want to shout out to my team here. They really worked hard so I am proud of them,” Kobyashi said.

The winning team’s name will be posted on a plaque and displayed over the next ten years.
