Update 2:30 p.m. The crowd has begun to march north on 27th Street, which police have blocked off.

Police estimate the crowd is between 1,000 and 1,500 people there.



A large crowd has converged on the Yellowstone County Courthouse Sunday afternoon in downtown Billings to protest the death of George Floyd.

The event is marked by hundreds of people lining 27th Street and chanting "Black Lives Matter" and "I can't breathe". They crowd has been responding to a parade of cars slowly making through the downtown area.

A Crow Tribe prayer started the event. Throughout the afternoon speakers, are expected to talk about racial division in the country, state, and community.

The protest has remained peaceful.
