GREAT FALLS — The Urban Art Project’s winter installation is now on display in the windows of the parking garage on the corner of 1st Avenue South and 4th Street in downtown Great Falls.
The 11 windows of the parking garage feature 11 new works of art, among them an exhibit created by special needs students at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art.
Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art Executive Director, Sarah Justice, says this display gives students the recognition they so rarely receive.
“This exhibition, Urban Art Project, is an opportunity for these students to shine,” Justice said.
The colorful plastic creations in the southeastern window of the Urban Art Project building were inspired by famous Glassblower, Dale Chihuly, but Justice said the mental and physical work behind the art came from the students themselves.
“They helped come up with this. They made all the work,” Justice said.
The Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art staff wanted to give their students a chance to showcase their craft.
“They're just very proud of their art work, so that's why we wanted to display it for them,” Justice said.
The winter Urban Art Project installation will be on display to the public for the next three months in Downtown Great Falls.
