GREAT FALLS — 119th Brawl of the Wild is underway Saturday and the Hi-Ho is ready.

This year marks the 119th match-up between college football teams Montana State Bobcats and University of Montana Grizzlies.

Each year the Hi-Ho decks out their digs with some turf to give the place a game-day feel.

This year the University of Providence basketball team helped roll out the ‘green carpet’.

HiHo Owner, Rich Hollis, is grateful to University of Providence for always lending the Hi-Ho their athletes for this annual event.

"Every year the University of Providence sends their athletes over to help us lay the sod and this year it was the ‘U of P’ basketball players. And we greatly appreciate their help,” Hollis said.

Hollis says the idea of bringing turf into the bar started with Chuck Meredith, a valued Hi-Ho helper who was always willing to volunteer for the tavern's events.

“We had a longtime helper Chuck Meredith who helped us for years doing this. so we're kinda dedicating it, calling it ...the Chuck Meredith field. He was just a gentleman who would come in, supervise, and got everything done right away for us,” Hollis said.

The tavern owner encourages people to come out and get in the game-day spirit.

“It’s good to show your support for both colleges. It’s a great event It’s a fun game to watch. There’s a lot razzing going on between teams and such. It’s a lot of fun,” Hollis said.

You can stop by the Hi Ho Tavern, located at 2600 10th Avenue South and check out the turf while seating is available.
