GREAT FALLS — On Monday morning, the University of Providence-Great Falls community unveiled their new University Center.
Bishop Michael Warfel of the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings was on hand to bless the new facility., dedicating it to the education of youth, the progress of the sciences, and learning.
The facility is equipped with services and technology that will benefit students, like state-of-the-art technology, production rooms, and Argo Central - a student services department.
Although the building is an asset to school, it was also designed with other community members in mind.
Faculty member Frankie Lyons has worked for the university for just over a year and has witnessed the building’s transformation firsthand.
“It was like a reveal. It was just fabulous to watch the building go from a foundation and to see the actual walls come up and to start feeling the actual presence on campus,” Lyons said.
Lyons believes the center will attract the community to campus.
“I think it's going to be a great opportunity for the community to be invited onto campus. And that the University of Providence will become recognized as a community partner. And that the Sisters of Providence will be recognized in their function throughout the community,” Lyons said.
The conference rooms and meeting areas can be used by various members of the public, from the Sisters of Providence to businesses.
