GREAT FALLS — Governor Steve Bullock’s COVID-19 stay-at-home directive took effect over the weekend, but it does allow for outdoor recreation, as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.
But even before the stay-at-home directive was issued, the River’s Edge Trail System in Great Falls saw more people than usual enjoying the outdoors after schools and other business closed.
Great Falls Park & Recreation trails coordinator Steffen Janikula said the trails are a good way to get out of the house while following the rules.
“I believe folks are rediscovering the River’s Edge Trail in the past weeks,” Janikula said. “Trail use has definitely increased and the trails are a great outlet for outdoor recreation and for keeping a positive state of mind in these troubling times. Please follow CDC guidelines for social distancing while on the trails.”
