GREAT FALLS — Emergency crews are at the scene of a one-vehicle crash near River Drive and 25th Street North. It happened a little before 9 a.m. on Friday.

The Great Falls Police Department says that River Drive is blocked from 38th Street North to 15th Street North until further notice.

Great Falls Fire Rescue said that the crash involves a tractor-trailer, and that Rivers Edge Trail is closed between the box car and the Black Eagle Dam until the scene is cleared.

GFFR shared a photo on Facebook that appears to show that the vehicle went over the guardrail and slid down toward the river.

The GFPD says: "Seek another route if you need to travel this direction, follow instructions by emergency personnel and DO NOT GO PAST THE POLICE CARS OR BLOCKADES! Montana Department of Transportation is on their way with barricades."

There is no word yet on whether anyone has been seriously injured.

We have a reporter headed to the scene and will update you when we get more information.

(UPDATE, 10:33 a.m.) Great Falls Fire Rescue says that extrication of the driver has been completed, and the person has been taken to a hospital. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Firefighters remain at the scene stabilizing the tractor-trailer to be removed from Rivers Edge Trail.
