GREAT FALLS — Groundbreaking took place on Friday for a new oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic at 2503 Bobcat Way in Great Falls.

The three surgeons within the practice - Daniel Whitney, Steven Whitney, and Trent Clifton - celebrated the practice's expansion alongside their family and fellow staff members. The groundbreaking ceremony was complete with golden shovels and commemorative photos.

Northern Montana Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (website) is the only practice in Great Falls with surgeons who live in the city where they practice. Clifton refers to himself and the two doctors within the practice as "hometown surgeons."

While none of the three are from Great Falls originally, they’ve come to call it home: “We feel it's a special privilege to be able to serve our local community and our neighbors and our friends and we're really excited to expand our offerings in a more efficient manner.”

He added that the new facility will allow surgeons to better meet the needs of their community with a larger site and staff.

“As the biggest oral surgery practice in town, we see a lot of patients, have a pretty high volume, but our current facility only has six rooms. We’re going to be expanding to 12 rooms and tripling the square footage of the facility where we work. And that’ll just give us more opportunity to serve people,” Clifton said.

Clifton projected that the new facility will open in December.
