GREAT FALLS — The Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center is celebrating its fifth birthday this weekend and invites the public to come join in the celebration.
The center’s annual Tails & Ales event is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be free ice cream, live music by Willie Puffit Bank, food trucks (Nourish, Brian’s Top Notch, Nana’s Vintage Indian Tacos), beverages including beer and wine, facility tours and kids activities like reptile demos by The Montana Reptile Rescue.
The event has been approved by the Cascade City-County Health Department. Social distancing, guest sign-ins and masks will be required. Staff will also be disinfecting surfaces over the four hour event.
Tails & Ales features a silent auction; center director Pam Volk told MTN News that proceeds continue MCAAC’S mission to better the community through education and empathy.
“We have a silent auction and that helps raise funds that we just use to operate- to help out homeless cats and dogs in our community and kids camps and other education.”
Returning this year is a puppy raffle; the center has nine puppies looking for forever families.
Raffle tickets are $25 - but winners do not actually receive a free puppy - rather, they win the chance to be first in line for a dog after they meet Maclean’s adoption parameters.
Winners will be drawn at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, and will be responsible for all adoption expenses.
