GREAT FALLS — The Hi-Line Climbing Center in Great Falls is hosting its annual bouldering competition virtually.
It’s been going on for two weeks and wraps up this weekend.
Instead of having the usual big group of climbers in for a one-day event, climbers come in on their own, climb, and log their climbing data in an app.
The data is ranked in real time with other climbers.
"It's definitely something different. This is the first time we've actually had to do something like this where it's virtual. I think the plus side is just how versatile it is. People can come in any time they want,” said staff member Tony Soukkeo.
He said there will likely be more virtual events in the future.
