GREAT FALLS — Great Falls Emergency Services has a new ambulance. It replaces an older ambulance that’s being taken out of service due to high mileage. It’s expected to be good for about 125,000 miles.
"We do everything we can to make sure when we send a paramedic team into the field that they're in a vehicle that's reliable, that's quality and is going to let them do their job as they need and want to do it. Upgrading these trucks periodically and kicking the old ones out into the field is part of that,” said Justin Grohs, GFES General Manager.
It is a type III ambulance on a 2021 Ford E450 chassis with a 7.3L V-8 engine, according to GFES.
As of Wednesday, GFES was working to get the new ambulance set up and ready to use; they expect it to be in service within about a week.
