GREAT FALLS — The owners of Straight Flush Drain Solutions are helping people in Texas recover from the recent and historic winter storm there.

Joe and Danielle Leinhard left Great Falls over the weekend and drove to Houston, Texas.

They decided to make the trip after Joe got calls from family members in the Houston area asking him what to do about their plumbing problems caused by the storm.

"This is the first time a natural disaster has happened where it's, like, 'Hey, we feel called. Let's go help out and make the world a little bit of a better place and represent Great Falls and Cascade County and Montana,” Joe said.

He and his wife also plan to help out several people who live in his family members’ neighborhood.

“(My family members have) a neighborhood app, it’s a social media thing. They linked our webpage to it and said, ‘Hey, my brother’s coming down to help’ and before I knew it I had 20 or 30 people calling our Great Falls number,” Joe explained.

He’s bringing about $12,000 worth of plumbing supplies with him.

“(Our work) is not going to be free, but I doubt that our normal Montana wages, like rates, are going to even be a drop in the bucket compared to what the Houston plumbers are charging,” Joe said.

He’s also bringing several pallets of water to donate to a food bank in Houston.
