GREAT FALLS — Emergency crews are responding to a possible river rescue in Great Falls.
Search and rescue personnel were dispatched at about 1:20 pm on Monday to the area along Lower River Road near Park Island and Verde Park, just south of the 10th Avenue South (Warden) bridge.
Initial reports indicate that several people were on a boat that capsized, and they made it to safety on a sandbar.
The boat was found capsized nearby.
At this point, there are no reports of serious injuries. We do not yet know how many people were involved.
Responding agencies include Great Falls Fire Rescue, Great Falls Police Department, Great Falls Emergency Services, and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.
