GREAT FALLS — New banners were unveiled in downtown Great Falls on Friday to recognize the graduating class of 2020 from all Great Falls high schools.

The Great Falls Business Improvement District is having the banners installed along Central Avenue, featuring more than 600 seniors and five schools being represented. They have 22 different random seniors' pictures on the front and back of the banner.

The banners are made possible thanks to Embark Credit Union and Speaking Socially.

Joan Redeen, Great Falls Business Improvement District Community Director, explained, "This year's class has had a lot of real blows so anything that we can do to help support them and say we recognize them and whatever it is that we can do to offer that, be it as small as a banner with their photo on it, that's not been done in recent history in Great Falls."

2Js Fresh Market provided chalk so individuals can support the seniors.

"The chalkboard is the school logos, they're located downtown at different businesses. Anyone in the community is invited to come down and take a piece of chalk at that business and write a note to the graduates," said Redeen.

The banners will stay up until September.
