Body recovered from the Missouri River

(UPDATE) Sheriff Jesse Slaughter confirmed on Thursday that the body found is that of Amy Harding. Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said during a news conference on Thursday that Harding's body has been taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of her death.

(1st Report, 8:48 pm, Wednesday) Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said on Wednesday evening that a body was recovered from the Missouri River.

The body will be taken to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, and to make positive identification.

The body was found in the Big Bend area just south of Great Falls city limits.

Sheriff Slaughter said that he will release the name of the person once family members have been notified.

He declined at this time to indicate whether the body may be that of Amy Harding, who was last seen on January 26 near a house on Flood Road, which is in the vicinity of the Big Bend area.
