GREAT FALLS — Benefis Health System broke ground Thursday on a new Women's and Children's Center set to open in late 2021.

The event featured several guest speakers, including Benefis psychiatrist LaToya Floyd.

Floyd explained that having a center where providers in similar fields can communicate more easily will improve the quality of care she and other health professionals can provide to patients.

“To know I'm in the same building and down the hall is going to mean that patient is going to get that referral, get that treatment, or that input that much faster. So I think it's an extraordinary opportunity. It's going to be an amazing venue. It's going to be like nothing that nobody has seen here before,” Floyd said.

In addition to serving as a medical home for both patients and providers, the three-story, 48,000-square foot facility will serve as an outpatient center for women and children.

Each of the building’s three floors will be dedicated to a specific purpose: first floor - basic lab services, screening mammography, and pediatric therapies; second floor - pediatrics; third floor - women’s health.

(MAY 30, 2018) Benefis Health System announced Tuesday that it has bought the former Pierce Auto Group lot, located on the 2700 block of 10th Avenue South.

Benefis said in a press release that it is planning to build a freestanding women’s and children’s center on the property.

“Benefis continues to invest in improvements to our care environment,” said Benefis CEO John Goodnow. “We constantly strive to make it as convenient as possible to seek care at Benefis, realizing that the location of our services is a major driver of that convenience.”
