GREAT FALLS — Anchor Fitness, which is currently located on Central Avenue, will soon have a new home on the north side of town.

Owners Zach and Tamara Podry are moving their gym to 2509 6th Avenue North, which is located right next to the IGA.

The new location will be much bigger and will allow more room for additional equipment and more space for group classes.

They will also be installing a kitchen, where they will host cooking and meal prep classes.

Another new service offered at the new location will be child care.

Once a month, they plan to host a free community workout.

They also want to involve local breweries in their new location, by having work-out sessions followed by beer tastings.

Zach and Tamara’s main goal in moving is to be more a part of the community.

“We just really wanted to be closer to where people live and shop, be part of their community,” said Tamara.

Zach added, “Well our community, I mean we live right up the street. We want to serve our community the best way that we can.”

But they plan to continue to give just as much personalized attention to their members as well.

“We care so much about each and every member. Every body encounters different barriers in their life to being healthy and fit. So, it’s still our mission to help each member that we have, be healthy and fit and overcome those barriers,” Tamara said.

She continued, “What we’ve learned over the last 3 and a half years that we’ve been in business, what’s really important is the people. Having a community and people that want to be here, you should feel welcome when you’re here, you should feel accepted and all of our members should know that this is their place. That’s what we’re trying to build and create.”

They will have membership discounts for the month of October. The first month will be $99 and then every month after that it will go up to $129.
