GREAT FALLS — Malmstrom Air Force Base opened its gates to the public Saturday morning for a free open house event.

The day’s attractions included a variety of food trucks, hands-on activities and exhibits, a kid’s zone and awe-inspiring aerial performances.

Young spectator Mark Douglas was particularly amazed by the performance pilots.

“I think it’s really insane how these people — especially the ones that were doing the stunts in the sky — I think it’s insane how they can do all those different things with the airplanes without messing up,” Douglas said.

Some of the aerial performance teams you can expect to see are Army’s Golden Knights Jump Team, Brian Correll Airshows, Lightning Formations and Acemaker.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend the open house today, you can head to base at 9 a.m. tomorrow where the event will continue until 5 p.m.

The full itinerary for the event can be found here.
