If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, there is still time to register for the 5th annual Kolor Me 4 Kids Fun Run.

Registration starts at noon at West Bank Park and the Fun Run will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.

The run is put on by The Dandelion Foundation, whose main mission is to prevent child abuse and family violence.

The run is their main fundraising event and is open to people of all ages.

There will be food, entertainment, and a drone taking videos of the runners while getting colors thrown at them by community volunteers.

This year, organizers hope to use the funds raised for an initiative to expand their efforts in the prevention of sexual abuse.

Jamie Marshall, a Dandelion Foundation board member, said, “We continue to see those rates being alarming, frankly in our community, it’s a topic that isn’t addressed as much as we would like it to be. We are looking at bringing the evidence-based nationally-recognized ‘darkness to light’ training here, which would provide a prevention model to educate many different sectors, including parents, on ways to prevent sexual abuse.”

There are currently about 300 people pre-registered for the run.

You can still pre-register on their website until midnight on Friday. You can also same-day register before noon on the day of the run.
