Disabled American Veterans of Great Falls fundraising for new van

Posted

The group Disabled American Veterans of Great Falls is raising money to replace one of its vans.

The DAV volunteer transportation network provides free rides to all veterans to their VA-approved medical appointments.

DAV National 3rd Jr. Vice Commander Joe Parsetich said the DAV Chapter 2 in Great Falls took two vehicles out of service for safety reasons.

Both vehicles are approaching 200,000 miles and have damage that’s too expensive to repair.

Parsetich said each vehicle costs a local chapter approximately $17,000. The national chapter will match the amount and then the group can buy from the manufacturers at dealers cost.

Parsetich is asking for the public’s help in raising the funds to replace the vehicles.

The DAV is having a fundraiser at Teriyaki Madness from 11 a.m to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6. Twenty percent of the bill will go towards the DAV van fundraiser.

Customers must say they are taking part in the fundraiser when ordering.
