If you want to give to nonprofits in Great Falls, but do not know much about the organizations’ missions, Give Great Falls has the perfect opportunity for you.

Starting Thursday, a once-a-year event that gives everyone the chance nationwide to donate to a charity of their choice kicks off.

From May 2nd at 12 p.m. through May 3rd at 6 p.m., givegreatfalls.org will be live for donations. The website features over 40 nonprofits and explains the event.

A few featured nonprofits include: Easterseals-Goodwill, Voices of Hope, The Children’s Museum, The Great Falls Children’s Receiving Home and many more.

You can donate to any nonprofit featured on the website or you can donate to the general website itself, which goes towards the Great Falls Nonprofit Alliance.

Donations to the Nonprofit Alliance will help with trainings and future fundraising.

The Children’s Museum of Montana Executive Director Sherrie Neff said, “Many people don’t understand what is going on in the community, there are some really strong givers that know who they want to give to and they reach out and they do that, but there’s a lot of people who want to give that really just don’t know where to and who. So this particular event has so much information available. It really makes a difference, every individual, every dollar counts.”

The “kick off” starts May 2nd from 4-6 p.m. at the Children’s Museum with free admission and food trucks. Nonprofits featured on the givegreatfalls website will be there to talk about their mission for the community.

There are also many other local businesses giving back for the event.

Double Barrel Coffee House Café is donating 10 percent of all food and drink purchases from 12 p.m. on May 2 to 6 p.m. on May 3.

Morning Light Coffee Roasters will donate $1 for each drink purchased during the same time period from 12 p.m. on May 2 to 6 p.m. on May 3.

Roadhouse Diner will donate $1 for every burger purchased on May 2.

Mighty Mo Brewing Company will host a live art demonstration by Hunter Rivord at 5 p.m. on May 2. The art will be displayed and raffle tickets will be sold until 5 p.m. on May 3 to win the art. Mighty Mo will match the raffle amount.

Bloom and Bean will donate 10 percent of all beverage sales from 4-6 p.m. on May 3.
