(UPDATE, 7:15 a.m.) The power outage that affected over 1,000 customers in Great Falls Sunday morning has been repaired.

There are still several power outages reported in north-central Montana, including near Vaughn, Stanford, Geraldine, Denton, and Pendroy, according to NorthWestern Energy.

(1st Report, 6:55 a.m.) A power outage affecting hundreds of people in the Electric City has been reported.

According to NorthWestern Energy, the outage is on the eastern side of Great Falls and is affecting about 1,847 customers.

The utility company estimates the outage will be repaired around 7:44 a.m. There is no word yet on the cause of the outage.

Great Falls is not the only place in north-central Montana without power. Areas near Vaughn, Stanford, Geraldine, Denton, and Pendroy all had reported outages as of 6:55 a.m.

“Customers” refers to a business or a residence, so the number of people without electricity is often much higher than that figure.

Safety reminder: if traffic lights are not working due to a power outage, the intersection must be treated as a four-way stop.
