You still have time to support the Great Falls Police Department in a national competition.
GFPD is one of 30 agencies whose lip sync video could appear on a CBS special, “Lip Sync to the Rescue.”
Last August, the department made a lip sync video after being challenged by the Montana Highway Patrol.
Their version of the song “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 honors the partners and families who are behind the badge.
The video strays from traditional lip syncs because Senior Police Officer Aaron McAdam actually sings.
“There were some things in the song that Maroon 5 sings that didn’t fit well with a police department. So we thought about changing those lyrics and then by the time that we figured out we would have to do all the work to change those lyrics it was just easier to sing the whole thing,” said McAdam.
“Lip Sync to the Rescue,” hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will be filmed in Los Angeles this summer.
To make the final cut, GFPD needs help from the public by voting online HERE. Voting is open through the month of April.
“Vote every day, vote multiple times, on your lunch break, on your coffee breaks, sit there and hit the vote button a couple times,” said McAdam. “The more that we can get this video out there to the nation, the more that we can recognize those people who matter, who help us do our job by supporting us.”
The department made the video with about $100 and by doing five shoots and using their best takes.
The Great Falls Police Department is the only Montana agency to be selected for the voting process of the show selection.
